Mother and Baby Yoga

Yoga builds physical and emotional contact between parents, babies and young children and promotes joy in family life.
Kat teaches Mother and Baby classes for new mums and their younger babies (suitable until babies are mobile) and Parent and Baby classes for mums/parents/guardians and their mobile babies/toddlers. Both classes are interactive between Parent and Baby. This keeps the babies interested!
Mother and Baby classes are more suitable for younger babies and postnatal women. Of course, either parent or guardian is very welcome to come with the baby to enjoy a yoga class that's beneficial for both. There is an emphasis on postnatal healing, particularly focusing on practises that tone the waist and the pelvic floor and increase women's awareness of consistantly supporting themselves in this area. There is a balance of stretching and relaxing sequences to encourage healing, vitality and postnatal recovery for mums, with sound, movement and massage for baby to nurture his or her overall development. Suitable for babies aged six weeks to mobile.
Parent and Baby classes are more suitable for older babies that are crawling and walking. There are bountiful interactive practises between parent and child, giving adults the chance to build strength and flexibility while keeping children amused! The emphasis on postnatal healing is still present, with a focus on postural awareness, valuable for all carers who regularly carry children and perform the physically demanding tasks of childcare!
